Accreditation of the CCC

The Chimpanzee Conservation Center is accredited by the Pan African Sanctuary Alliance (PASA) as a founding member. Accreditation by PASA requires that a strict code of conduct is respected and followed. Accreditation confirms that the CCC meets the requirements of respect for animals, transparency of its accounts, professionalism of staff members and a commitment to conservation.

To date, there are twenty-three PASA certified sanctuaries that have worked to preserve endangered primate species: chimpanzees, gorillas, bonobos, drills, forest monkeys, baboons and vervet monkeys. Additional information may be found at: www.pasaprimates.org

Centers supported by GFAS are mainly located in Africa and the United States, they are more than fifty and several of them relate to primates.
